Matt was born and raised in Port Elgin, and played junior hockey in Owen Sound, Kitchener, Kincardine and Walkerton. His senior career took him to Wiarton, Lucknow and Elora. “Turk” works as a Carpenter at Bruce Power and his hobbies include dirt biking and fastball. He lists meditating as a pregame ritual along with getting to the rink early and helping to set up the room for the rest of the guys. Turk is entering his fifth year with the team and his favourite part of being a Winterhawk is getting to hang out with the boys.
